“The greatest compliment that was ever paid me was when one asked me what I thought, and attended to my answer.” ― Henry David Thoreau

It is my goal to create a presence in the treatment room in which every patient is truly heard.  Whether you are coming for is back pain, PMS, or digestive troubles, it is important to understand every aspect of the condition and how it affects you as an individual.  As an example, back pain is never exactly the same for every individual and should not be treated with the same protocol.  Environment, past history, existing conditions and other factors all play a role in how back pain “shows up” in your body.  You can rest assured that you will be treated as an individual in every visit.

My Journey

My journey to becoming an acupuncturist was not a straight path.  In the midst of an extensive career in a fast-paced corporate environment I developed hip pain that could not be resolved by conventional methods.  Looking to decrease the use of analgesics, steroids, and possible surgery, a friend mentioned that I should try acupuncture.  With skepticism at the time, I made an appointment to see a caring and attentive acupuncturist that spent a considerable amount of time understanding and listening to me about my condition, activities, and approach to life.  After the third appointment my pain was resolved.  Amazed at the outcome I soon decided that I wanted to study acupuncture and pursue it as a new career.

I received my undergraduate degree in the sciences from McDaniel College (formerly Western Maryland College).  My graduate degree in business was conferred by The Johns Hopkins University Carey School of Business.  My Doctor of  Oriental Medicine and my Masters of Acupuncture degrees were received from the Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH).  I also continued my post-graduate studies in Herbal Medicine at MUIH.  I am also a NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) specialist capable of treating a host of addictions and addictive behaviors.
